By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in Orange Walk Town have charged a man following a theft incident at a local supermarket that left the shop owner injured.
Reports indicate that on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at around 3:00 p.m., the owner of Aaron Superstore, located on Corozal Road, observed a man entering the establishment and behaving suspiciously.
The individual reportedly walked through the store before taking two bottles of salad dressing from a shelf and concealing them in the front of his pants.
The shop owner alerted an employee and attempted to detain the suspect; however, the man managed to break free and escape. During the struggle, the owner sustained an injury to her finger.
Police were called, and the suspect was later escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station, where he was identified and informed of the offence.
On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, he was formally arrested and charged for the crime of theft. Police investigations into the matter continue.
