By  Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in the Orange Walk District have charged a 27-year-old man after he was found driving a motorcycle without valid third party insurance.

The incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, while police were conducting mobile patrol in San Felipe Village. Officers observed a black Honda CB100 motorcycle travelling toward August Pine Ridge Village and signaled the rider to stop.

During checks, the rider produced a valid Belize driver’s license but was unable to provide current insurance coverage for the motorcycle. Police say the insurance presented had expired in March of last year, and the motorcycle was also found to be unlicensed.

The motorcyclist was informed of the offences, arrested, and taken to the Orange Walk Police Station pending charges.

He was later formally charged for driving a motor vehicle not covered by third party risk insurance and for using an unlicensed motor vehicle. Police say he was granted bail and is expected to appear before the Orange Walk Magistrate’s Court on January 6, 2026.
