By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A labourer of San Narciso Village, Corozal District has been charged with possession of controlled drugs following a patrol on Progress Street in Orange Walk Town.
Police say officers were conducting patrol in a marked mobile around 7:20pm on Friday when they arrived in front of a restaurant on Progress Street.
An officer noticed a man emerging from a lane leading to a well known drug base, and saw him throw a small white object to the ground about two feet away from himself.
Officers stopped, approached the man and conducted a search of his person, which turned up nothing.
Asked what he had thrown, he said nothing.
The officer then escorted him back to the spot and made checks, finding a small transparent plastic bag containing a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.
At the Orange Walk Police Station the substance was weighed in his presence at a gross weight of 0.23 grams, then sealed in a labelled envelope.
Jamid Apolinar Patt was arrested and charged for possession of controlled drugs.
