By Aaron Humes: 45-year-old Andrew Wade, a veteran public officer, is on remand after being arrested for possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply. The police executed a search warrant at Wade’s residence in the Picini area of Belmopan last Thursday, leading to the discovery of approximately 16.3 pounds of suspected marijuana.
Assistant Superintendent Stacy Smith, Police Staff Officer, indicated in a press briefing, “This search resulted in the discovery of ten parcels of suspected cannabis, which, when weighed, amounted to 16.3 pounds.”
The high-grade quality marijuana found in Wade’s home is reported to have a potential wholesale street value exceeding $20,000, according to street sources. But police would not discuss whether they believe Wade had a history of trafficking or association with drugs.
