By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Office of the Prime Minister has announced that Prime Minister John Briceño departed the country on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, enroute to Mexico City, Mexico. Prime Minister Briceño is attending the 270th Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Central American Corporation for Air Navigation Services (COCESNA).
The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Belize on Saturday, November 16, 2024. During his absence, Cordel Hyde, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources, Petroleum & Mining, assumes the role of Acting Prime Minister.
The meeting in Mexico City is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and address key issues related to civil aviation safety and efficiency. COCESNA plays a crucial role in managing air traffic services and ensuring the safety of air travel in the region.
Prime Minister Briceño’s participation in the meeting reiterates Belize’s commitment to regional collaboration and the continuous improvement of air navigation services. The outcomes of this meeting are expected to contribute to the enhancement of civil aviation operations and safety standards across Central America.
