Premier League of Belize: Latrell Middleton scores hat-trick in Port Layola 6-0 whipping of Wagiya

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Port Layola blasted Wagiya 6-zip at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga in Week 9 of the Premier League of Belize 2023-24 Closing Season.

Despite the return of the four U20 players, Wagiya couldn’t withstand the Port Loyola onslaught in the second half on Sunday.

Latrell Middleton starred, scoring a hat trick in the ball game. Latrell shook the net in the 65’ through a penalty kick, in the 88’, and in the 90’+3. That was his second hat-trick this season. The first was also against Wagiya in Port’s 5-2 in Belize City.

Orlando Velasquez opened the scoring for Port Loyola in the 47’. Jarret Davis scored in the 66^’ and Curtis Valerio in the 75^th.

The first half was rather even with Wagiya holding out but the second period was all Port Layola. When floodgates opened, Port Loyola didn’t have any mercy on the home team.

Port are still in second with 19 points; five shy of leaders Verdes, and three more than third place Benque Viejo United.

Wagiya are in sixth place with six points.
