Premier League of Belize: Bandits draw 1-1 with Police Benque (Club Deportivo Benque)

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: After the international break to make way for the Belize Men’s National Team’s (BMNT) two matches against Puerto Rico, the Premier League of Belize Week 11 kicked off on Wednesday night with a 1-1 draw between Bandits and Police Benque (Club Deportivo Benque).

In the match at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan, the visiting Police Benque scored first through the efforts of Brayan Jose Vargas Sánchez in the 25^th minute.

Jonard Castillo levelled the score late in the game with a penalty kick in the 87^th minute.

Police Benque moved up to seven points from 11 games and are still in sixth place.

Bandits now have five points and are still languishing at the bottom of the standings in eighth place.

Week 11 continues with three games on Holy Saturday.

Leader Verdes tackle sub leaders Port Layola at 4:00 pm at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio. Progresso host Wagiya at 7:30 pm at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk and Benque Viejo United take on Champions Altitude at the Edmund Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo del Carmen at 7:30 pm.
