By Breaking Belize News Staff: A police officer charged with the murder of Ladyville resident Shakeem Ferguson made another appearance in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Friday morning and was given a new adjournment date.

Police Constable Kenroy Rudolph Allen Jr., 24, of the Xunantunich area of Lords Bank Village, Ladyville, has been on remand since his arraignment on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Allen Jr. appeared before a Senior Magistrate in Court #1 at around 10:00 a.m. on Friday, where his matter was adjourned to Thursday, July 16, 2026. He has not yet been provided with disclosure, as the case remains within the court’s disclosure timeline.

This was Allen Jr.’s first court appearance since his February arraignment in connection with Ferguson’s murder.

Ferguson was gunned down on Sunday, January 25, 2026, on Joe Lewis Street in Ladyville. Police had responded to reports of shots being fired and found Ferguson’s motionless body lying on the right side of the road with apparent gunshot injuries.

According to police, Ferguson’s common-law wife identified his body and reported that he had left home around 4:00 p.m. That evening, police processed the scene and recovered 13 expended cartridges, along with other evidence including blood swabs and surveillance footage.

Investigators later linked a black Chevrolet Equinox, reportedly owned by Allen Jr., to the investigation. Police say Allen Jr. was later detained, and his licensed P320 M18 pistol was taken in for forensic analysis. Police also searched his home and collected clothing and Nike slippers believed to have been worn at the time of the incident.

The Equinox was later found near Mile 1 on the George Price Highway, close to Monica’s Pawn Shop. Police also reported lifting partial fingerprints from a plastic cup inside the vehicle.

A post-mortem examination certified that Ferguson died from hypovolemic shock due to internal and external bleeding caused by gunshot injuries.

Allen Jr. was later charged with murder after a ballistic report allegedly matched 9mm cartridge cases from the scene to his personal firearm.
