By Zoila Palma: Oceana Belize is inviting the public to nominate outstanding individuals for its 2026 Ocean Hero Awards, which recognize Belizeans who have made significant contributions to ocean conservation, advocacy, and environmental education.
The awards celebrate individuals whose work has helped protect Belize’s marine environment through ocean advocacy, teaching and education, on-the-ground conservation, restoration and rehabilitation efforts, project implementation, or private and independent research.
Oceana Belize encourages members of the public to submit nominations for deserving candidates by July 15, 2026.
