By Aaron Humes: Authorities are investigating a robbery that took place earlier today involving an ice cream truck belonging to Western Diaries on the George Price Highway.
In a subsequent police operation, officers apprehended two individuals near the checkpoint at the 4-mile mark on the George Price Highway. A vehicle suspected to be involved in the robbery was checked, and authorities recovered an undisclosed amount of cash from the suspects.
According to eyewitness reports, three men, two of whom are described as dark-skinned, approached the driver while he was stopped on the highway. They threatened him and made off with a small bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a small white car, moving in the direction of Belize City.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to locate the third suspect and gather more information about the robbery. Community members are urged to report any information that may assist with the case.
