By Aaron Humes: Police this afternoon made a major haul of suspected cannabis being transported along the Philip Goldson Highway near Sandhill village, Belize District.
A vehicular checkpoint was set up in front of the Sandhill Police Station and a mobile was sent out on the highway in search of a vehicle of a certain description. That vehicle was observed parked in front of Fa’s Store and police detained the occupants.
The occupants, a man and a woman were escorted to Sandhill Police Station and informed of the reason for their detention, and served with a pair of acknowledgment forms. Thereafter they were escorted to Ladyville Police Station.
When the car was searched 67 parcels of suspected cannabis were found inside.
The drugs will be weighed as police investigations are underway.
