By Zoila Palma: Prime Minister John Briceño has called on Belizeans at home and abroad to celebrate the country’s 45 years of Independence by looking confidently toward the future while carrying Belize’s identity with them wherever they go.
Briceño said the anniversary is more than a commemoration of independence in 1981. “Today, we invite the world to look at us—to see our strength, our diversity, our beauty, and our promise,” he declared in his Independence Day message.
The Prime Minister said Belizeans should continue to demonstrate their national pride through their actions and achievements. “Wherever we go and whatever we accomplish, let us carry Belize proudly within us,” he stated.
He also emphasized the importance of unity as the country moves forward. “And with the guidance of our Creator, we continue, firmly focused on the future and committed to living as one,” Briceño said.
