By Zoila Palma: Outrage has erupted in Placencia over the sale of “Placencia Point,” a beloved seafront area long seen as public land.
The property was recently sold to a company sparking protests and demands for the government to reverse the transaction.
According to reports, the Placencia Village Council has formally appealed to Minister of Natural Resources Cordel Hyde to return the land to the community, calling the sale unjust and lacking public input.
Protests have already begun, with residents vowing to escalate if the government doesn’t act.
The Ministry has not yet responded publicly to the growing backlash.
