By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries has received a significant boost in its efforts to combat illicit arms trafficking, thanks to a donation from the Organization of American States (OAS).
Through its Program of Assistance on Control of Arms and Munitions, the OAS has provided three firearms marking machines to the Ministry.
The equipment will be instrumental in supporting both the Ministry and the Firearms and Ammunition Control Board in improving the traceability of firearms within Belize.
The new machines are expected to aid authorities in marking and tracking firearms more efficiently.
