By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Last week, Leader of the Opposition, Shyne Barrow attended the annual meeting of Global Leaders at the International Democracy Forum (IDF) in Washington D.C.
While there, the Leader of the Opposition met with Congressman Vincent Gonzalez who is the U.S. Representative for Texas 34 and a prominent member of the Congressional Spanish Caucus.
“Rep. Gonzalez and I are pictured in the U.S. Capitol Building at a location which is said to be the center of Democracy.
After observing debates on the House floor we discussed the Belizean Diaspora, greater investments in developing Nations such as Belize, human trafficking and other matters,” Barrow said.
Barrow expressed enthusiasm for continued engagement with colleagues in the U.S. Congress for the mutual benefit of Belize and the U.S.
