By Zoila Palma: On April 8, 2026, Minister of Human Development, Family Support and Gender Affairs Thea Garcia-Ramirez received a courtesy call from Amino C.Y. Chi, Ambassador of Taiwan to Belize.
The meeting was warm and productive, reaffirming the strong and favorable relationship that has long existed between the Ministry and the Embassy of Taiwan.
Discussions included positive impact past initiatives supporting vulnerable individuals and families across Belize.
Minister Garcia-Ramirez and the Taiwan Ambassador explored new and exciting areas for future cooperation. The conversation focused on strengthening ongoing collaboration and identifying opportunities for projects that advance social development, family support, and community well-being.
Minister Garcia-Ramirez expressed appreciation for the continued partnership and support from Taiwan noting the importance of collaboration in delivering meaningful programmes for Belizean communities.
Ambassador Chi also conveyed his enthusiasm for working closely with the Ministry and reaffirmed Taiwan’s commitment to continued cooperation.
