Tut Bay FC welcome Belmopan’s Napoles FC Saturday evening at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City for the first leg of the semi-finals in the National Amateur Inter-District Championship (NAIC). Kick-off is set for 5:00 pm.
Having secured a convincing 4–1 aggregate victory over Calcutta Bulls in the quarterfinals, the Belize City side aim to maintain their momentum. Tut Bay displayed balance and attacking flair in their previous outing, with decisive goals from Esmond Sanker and Calvin Thurton sealing their place in the final four.
Napoles FC, meanwhile, progressed under less conventional circumstances. Holding a commanding 6–0 lead from the first leg, the second fixture in Dangriga was initially postponed due to inclement weather. A rescheduled match set for Thursday, 31 July, saw Napoles travel south once more, but Griga Conquerors, according to Napoles, declined to play. The fixture was consequently awarded 3–0 to Napoles by the match commissioner, confirming their place in the semi-finals. Tut Bay will travel to Belmopan for the second leg next weekend. The aggregate winner advances to the national final.
Saturday night’s second semi-final features Vikings FC against Yo Creek United at 7:30 pm at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence.
