By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Defending champions Napoles FC reignited their Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB) Closing Season campaign with an overwhelming 4–1 victory over league leaders Jewel Fury on Sunday evening at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.
Napoles opened the scoring when Roshanny Narváez converted a 24th‑minute penalty, but Jewel Fury responded quickly through Elva Nunes, who equalized in the 28th minute.
The champions took full control in the second half. Khalydia Velasquez restored the lead with a 70th‑minute penalty, and Narváez added her second penalty of the match in the 81st minute, pushing the score to 3–1. Velasquez then sealed the win with her second goal, scoring in 90+1.
The result lifts Napoles to five points after three rounds, moving them above Jewel Fury and tightening the standings. Fury, who entered Week 3 unbeaten, remain on four points after suffering their first loss of the season.
With Narváez and Velasquez combining for all four goals, Napoles reasserted themselves as title contenders.
