Ministry of Rural Transformation strengthens water systems and resilience in Orange Walk

By Zoila Palma:  On April 16, 2026, the Ministry of Rural Transformation delivered essential resources to the Orange Walk District to strengthen local water systems.

The waterboards of San Jose Nuevo Palmar and August Pine Ridge received a significant consignment of pipes to expand their community water systems to more households.

Additionally, San Jose Nuevo Palmar was also equipped with a new heavy-duty “backup generator to ensure a consistent water supply during power outages.

“We remain committed to ensuring our rural communities have access to safe, potable water—providing the essential tools they need to thrive, one village at a time,” the Ministry expressed.
