By Zoila Palma: On May 8, 2026, Mayor of Belize City Bernard Wagner delivered the opening remarks at the 21st Annual Catholic Principals’ Gathering, hosted by the Belize District Catholic Principals’ Association under the leadership of President Beatriz Chan.
The event brought together over 136 principals and school leaders from across Belize.
The event was held under the theme “Catholic Leaders: Renewing and Invigorating Catholic Education in a Dynamic and Evolving Society”, creates space for collaboration, growth, and innovation in education.
In his remarks, Mayor Wagner recognized principals as key nation-builders and reaffirmed the Belize City Council’s commitment to supporting education through initiatives like student hubs, the Youth Shadow Council Program, and youth development programs across the city.
“You do your part in the classroom, and we are committed to doing ours in the community.”
We salute our educators for their continued dedication to shaping Belize’s future,” Mayor Wagner said.
