By Zoila Palma: During an interview with 7News Belize on Wednesday, Mayor of San Ignacio and Santa Elena said that the Town Council is working closely with the Belize Police Department in efforts to install more surveillance cameras within the towns.
“We have been working very closely with the program that was initiated about a year ago where surveillance cameras have been installed in strategic areas within the municipalities. We have had that close communication with the police department and more often patrols on our streets,” Trapp said.
In addition, the Mayor says that all residents and neighbors are urged to be vigilant and install their own surveillance cameras to assist in robbery/ burglary investigations.
