Marquis Conorquie charged for murder of Stanley Moore

By Breaking Belize News Staff: This weekend, well-known criminal figure, Stanley Jerome Moore, 32, was gunned down and died in the KHMH parking lot before receiving treatment. on Tuesday, police arrested and charged 24-year-old Marquis Anthony Conorquie, a construction worker from the Saint Martin’s De Porres area, with Moore’s murder.

Conorquie, brought to court Tuesday morning, faced a delayed arraignment until the afternoon. He appeared unrepresented before a magistrate and was charged with four offenses: murder, attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and dangerous harm. He was denied bail and remanded to Belize Central Prison until August 26, 2024.

The charges stem from the shooting of Moore and the attempted murder of Joshua Gillett, 27, on June 23, 2024. Moore was found dead in a BMW, while Gillett, who was also shot, is in critical condition. Conorquie, already out on bail for a separate robbery trial, was detained for Moore’s murder on June 24, 2024.
