By Zoila Palma: Today, Leader of the Opposition Tracy Panton issued a statement saying that “Corruption in Belize is no longer isolated. It is systemic. It has become a pandemic infecting every level of government and every facet of public life. Those who are politically aligned continue to feed from the public trough. This is a direct assault on our democracy and a betrayal of the Belizean people.”
Panton says that the UDP remains “firmly committed to restoring integrity, accountability, and transparency in governance. A future UDP Government will implement a strict ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY on corruption at every level.”
The Leader of the Opposition says that those who abuse public trust must face real consequences.
“Allegations of corruption must be investigated fully, independently, and without fear or favour. As taxpayers and contributors to the public purse, we deserve a government we can believe in. More importantly, a government we can trust.
Enough is Enough,” Panton said.
