Ladyville man shot in early morning attack

By Horace Palacio: A 26-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after being shot multiple times in Ladyville early this morning.

Police responded to the Ladyville Fire Station around 12:03 a.m. on Tuesday after receiving reports of a man with gunshot wounds. Upon arrival, they found Frank Young, a Belizean laborer residing in Ladyville Village, suffering from apparent gunshot injuries to his upper right arm and right leg.

Initial investigations revealed that Young was walking on the Phillip Goldson Highway in front of Fine Dining Restaurant, heading towards the fire station, when he was ambushed. Young reported hearing several loud bangs that sounded like gunshots before feeling a burning sensation in his arm and leg.

Young was transported to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital by BERT personnel, where he is currently listed in stable condition.

Police have processed the scene of the shooting and recovered a shell casing. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
