By Breaking Belize News Staff: Belize City resident Kevaughan Middleton, 25, is out on bail after three serious charges including attempted murder, and two firearm related offenses were withdrawn against him.
Middleton, who has spent five months on remand at the Belize Central Prison, appeared in court on Wednesday and on a directive from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) three charges against him were withdrawn. Those charges were attempted murder, kept unlicensed firearm and ammunition without a gun license.
The DPP gave no reason for the withdrawal but informed that it will proceed with the charges of wounding and use of deadly means of harm against Middleton. With that, Middleton asked for bail for the remaining charges against him, which was granted in the sum of $5,000 plus two sureties of the same.
