By Breaking Belize News Staff: Justice Derick Sylvester had a packed criminal list in the High Court on Wednesday, dealing with a wide range of serious matters including murder, attempted murder, rape, rape of a child, unlawful sexual intercourse, robbery, grievous harm, and use of a deadly instrument.
Justice Sylvester, who is currently hearing both criminal and civil matters, dealt with as many as 20 criminal matters during Wednesday’s session.
The accused persons who appeared before the court included Charles Brown, Dwayne Wite, Asband Grant, and Samuel Bolanos, who are each facing murder charges. Bolanos’ matter reportedly stems from San Pedro.
Other matters listed included Travis Flowers, who is accused of the attempted murder of a Belize City traffic officer; Corners Slusher, who is also facing an attempted murder charge; Christopher Rosado, charged with causing death by careless conduct; and Justin Ramirez, who is facing a charge of grievous harm.
The court’s list also included several sexual offence matters. Salvador Choc is charged with rape of a child, Oscar Nal is accused of raping a tourist in San Pedro, Samuel Bernardez is charged with rape of an elderly woman, while Johnny Sanariucia and Pedro Baki are each facing charges of unlawful sexual intercourse. Wayne Anthony is charged with incest, and Fernandito Botes is accused of sexual assault of a child.
Also appearing before the court were Jair Alcoser, charged with using a computer system to transmit nude data; Christian Ramos and Trevor Lopez, who are accused in connection with a robbery in San Pedro; and Vanessa Good, who is charged with use of a deadly instrument.
The matters are expected to be dealt with by Justice Sylvester during the upcoming session of the High Court.
