By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A labourer of Santa Marta Village has been charged with three traffic offences after riding up to a location where police were conducting operations.

Police say officers were carrying out a house search in the village on Friday afternoon when an officer securing the outside noticed a man arriving on a black and blue Meilun motorcycle with no licence plate.

The officer approached and asked whether he had a licence and insurance for the motorcycle.

The man responded that he was just test running it, and that he had no licence, no insurance and no driver’s licence.

He was informed of the offences committed, placed under arrest, cautioned and escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station.

Luis Andres Sosa was charged with using a motor vehicle not covered by third party risk insurance, using an unlicensed motor vehicle, and driving without being the holder of a valid Belize driver’s licence.

He was granted bail and is to appear at the Orange Walk Magistrate’s Court on Friday, September 11.
