By Jose Luis Cruz: An innocent woman, Jane Urbina and her unborn baby, are victims of a cold blooded murder that occurred a short while ago in Hattieville. A pregnant Urbina was shot and killed while waiting for a bus to return home to San Ignacio, after visiting her brother, young Lionel Rodolfo Urbina, a Police Constable who is currently on remand at the Belize Central Prison.
PC Urbina was charged in January of this year for the stabbing death of 19-year-old Kevin Matthew Depaz which occurred in Caye Caulker on June 30th, 2025. PC Urbina was also charged with two (2) counts of Attempted Murder and two (2) counts of Use of Deadly Means of Harm in relation to injuries sustained by Neesean Allen and Julian Canul. The stabbing occurred after a brawl occurred between two (2) off-duty police constables and the trio (Depaz, Allen and Canul) that resulted in Depaz, Canul and the other police constable being stabbed. Kevin Depaz died shortly after from the stab wounds sustained.
One of the comments under Breaking Belize News earlier report highlighted a possible connection between the June 2025 incident and today’s murder “This lady didn’t harm anyone..she paid the price for what her brother did!! This is beyond cold hearted”
