By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are in a tight race across 7 battleground states, according to a Washington Post/Schar School poll.
Harris leads in Georgia 51% to 47%, while Trump holds a slight edge in Arizona at 49% to 46%. Both results fall within the poll’s margin of error of 4.5 percentage points.
Harris, the Democratic nominee following President Biden’s withdrawal, also shows strength in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Trump leads in North Carolina and is tied with Harris in Nevada at 48%.
As Trump campaigns in North Carolina after assessing Hurricane Helene damage, he continues to face legal challenges over election-related claims, Reuters report.
Harris aims to unite diverse voter demographics while attracting disillusioned Republicans.
Overall, 49% of likely voters support Harris compared to 48% for Trump.
With Election Day approaching on November 5, these battleground states are expected to be crucial for determining the U.S. election outcome.
