By Horace Palacio: Police in Benque Viejo have uncovered a high-powered weapon, an M4 Carbine with no serial number, during a search in the Chapel Hill area. The firearm was found hidden in an empty lot concealed by thick bushes.
In addition to the rifle, police discovered a loaded extended 5.56 plastic magazine, two metal 5.56 magazines, and a black extended 5.56 automatic plastic magazine. The magazines held a total of 40 live rounds.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the origin and intended use of the weapon.
