By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise has announced that the 2026 National Agriculture and Trade Show (NATS) will take place from April 30 to May 3 at the showgrounds in Belmopan.
Opening ceremonies are scheduled for April 30, with this year’s event being held under the theme “Advancing Smart Agriculture: Building a Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Belizean Food System.”
Agric 2026 is expected to display an array of produce and livestock with proud farmers from across the country participating.
In addition, multiple food stalls, ice cold mangoyadas, frappes and more.
Recognized as Belize’s premier agricultural event, NATS will once again bring together farmers, businesses, and policymakers from across the country.
The show aims to showcase agricultural advancements while addressing key national concerns, including climate change and the need to strengthen local food production systems.
The Ministry will also recognize winners of the 2026 Farmer of the Year Competition: Saulo Mesh was named Male Farmer of the Year, Yoalma Pocasangre received Female Farmer of the Year, and Jeshua Tzib was awarded Junior Farmer of the Year.
The committee commended the awardees for their dedication and innovation, noting their contributions to sustaining agriculture as a vital sector of Belize’s economy.
