By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a shooting incident that left five Belize City men injured.
On Thursday, July 17, about 10:18 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots on Aloe Vera Street, Belize City. They continued to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where police observed five male individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
The shooting victims were identified as 20-year-old Aristotle Hughes, 28-year-old James Young Jr.,18-year-old Jermaine Smart, 34-year-old Douglas Gill, and 34-year-old Lismo Williams. Initial investigations revealed that about 10:15 p.m., the group was socializing on Aloe Vera Street when two individuals on a bicycle approached and fired multiple shots in their direction, resulting in the injuries sustained.
All victims are currently listed in stable condition, and Douglas Gill has since been discharged from the hospital.
Police are currently investigating.
