By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Southern champions Georgetown Technical High School are challenging defending champions King’s College, the Northern champions, for the National Secondary Schools Girls Basketball Championship on Saturday morning at Sacred Heart College Auditorium in San Ignacio.
Hosts Sacred Heart College, the Western champions, are taking on Central Region champs Wesley College from Belize City for third place.
On Friday, in the semifinal round of the tournament organized by the National Secondary Schools Sports Association’s National Basketball Championship, Georgetown Technical defeated Wesley College 31-17 to advance to the finals.
In the other semifinal, King’s College were on a roll defeating hosts Sacred Heart College 36-6.
The first game on Saturday, starting at 9:00 am, will feature the Girls third place game. The second game of the day will be the Boys third place match.
The third game will be the Girls Championship game and the fourth game will be the Boys Championship game.
