By Aaron Humes: With less than two weeks to go before the start of the 2024 hurricane season, the Belize City Council reiterated that “ensuring the safety and well-being of our community is a year-round commitment.”
To that end, the Central Emergency Management Organization (CEMO) received an official briefing from the National Meteorological Service to better inform plans and decision-making processes for the upcoming season.
The CEMO Unit is fully engaged and activated, working tirelessly to enhance preparedness efforts. Recently, each of the 15 CEMO sub-committees hosted sessions to reassess and improve our emergency response plans.
To residents, City Hall reminds, “Remember, preparedness is key! Stay tuned for updates and important information as we continue to do all we can to safeguard the lives and properties of our residents in times of disaster.”
