By Zoila Palma: Galen University has announced that applications for the MoECST–Galen Scholarships are now open, offering five tuition scholarships to eligible Belizean students pursuing undergraduate studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The scholarship initiative is being offered in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology (MoECST) to support students seeking to advance their education in STEM-related fields.
To qualify, applicants must be residents of Belize, have successfully completed an associate degree from a recognized tertiary institution, demonstrate financial need, and have a minimum GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.
Applicants must also be enrolled in their third year at Galen University in an eligible STEM programme and be willing to fulfill the scholarship programme’s community service requirements.
Eligible programmes include Environmental Science, Computer Science, Cyber Security, and a Bachelor in Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science Education.
The application deadline is September 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
