Frank Young returns to Court on common assault charge

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Ladyville resident Frank Young made his second appearance at the Belize City Magistrate’s Court last week, this time in connection with an old common assault charge.

Young, 29, appeared before a Senior Magistrate in Court #2 on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. The charge reportedly arose from a domestic dispute involving Young and his common-law wife.

The has informed the prosecution that she no longer wishes to pursue the case. However, the magistrate ordered that she appear in person before the charge can be dismissed. The matter was consequently adjourned until Monday, July 13, 2026.

Young had appeared in court two days earlier and pleaded not guilty to handling stolen goods. Police allege that he was found in possession of a red Lifan motorcycle valued at $2,800, which belonged to murder victim Shane “Shatta P” Vargas.

Young was denied bail on that charge and remanded to the Belize Central Prison. He is due back in court for the handling stolen goods matter on October 6, 2026.
