Fight outside Santa Elena grocery store results in double stabbing

By Aaron Humes: Two men from the Twin Towns are hospitalized after a violent altercation outside a grocery store on Saturday night.

Police report that around 7:15 p.m., Joseph Requeña and Yali Flores were purchasing items at Quan Ji shop in Santa Elena Town when they were attacked by a group of men outside the store. Requeña sustained stab wounds to his right chest and left leg, while Flores received three stab wounds to his lower left back.

Both men were initially treated at San Ignacio Community Hospital and later transferred to the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan for further care.

Police have detained one individual and are seeking another person for questioning in connection with the incident.
