By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a reported rape of a minor who had been reported missing from a youth hostel.
On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, Placencia Police responded to information about a female minor in the village who was wanted for allegedly absconding from the Hostel in Belize City. She was detained and escorted to the Placencia Police Station, and Human Development officers were informed.
On Thursday January 4, the female minor made a report to the police and Human Development officer in Dangriga Town stating that she had sexual intercourse twice on December 26, 2023, with her alleged ex-boyfriend, and again on January 3, 2024 before she was taken in.
A medical examination was conducted on her, which revealed she was carnally known.
