Female cop and soldier suffer robbery in Lord’s Bank Village

By Aaron Humes: According to police, on April 26, two women, a Belize Defence Force (BDF) soldier working as a nurse and a police officer were victims of a robbery in Lord’s Bank Village, Belize District. The Ladyville Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) responded to the incident after receiving a call via 911.

According to the victims, they were walking around 8:45 PM, headed towards their mother’s house. While on Tala Walk Street Extension, they were approached by a male on a black bicycle.

The assailant brandished a black pistol and ordered both women to lay face down on the ground. He then proceeded to rob them of their belongings, including a dark blue wallet containing several bank cards, a social security card, and $300; a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 cell phone, valued at $2,000; and a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, housed in a pink case, worth about $1,500. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at $3,800.

After the robbery, the suspect threatened the victims to remain on the ground until he was out of sight before fleeing in the direction of Lord’s Bank Road.

Police are investigating.
