By Aaron Humes: On Sunday, May 10, a shooting incident claimed the life of 29-year-old Jose Marvin Ramos Alvarado. The Salvadoran national was sitting under a mango tree shortly before 10 p.m. when multiple gunshots rang out, leaving the community in shock.
Staff Officer Assistant Superintendent Stacy Smith told reporters on Monday, “Ramos left from inside his room and went near a mango tree and it is alleged that a male person came from out of an orange orchard that was located across the street and fired several shots in his direction, fatally wounded him before retreating back into the orange orchard. No motive has been established in this ongoing investigation.”
Alvarado was rushed to Southern Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Police investigations continue.
