By Zoila Palma: On Thursday, April 30, 2026, 3 outstanding Belizean farmers were recognized during the official opening of the National Agriculture and Trade show 2026 for their contributions to Belize’s agricultural development.
Saulo Mesh of San Antonio, Cayo District, was named Male Farmer of the Year, while Yoalma Pocasangre of Valley of Peace earned the Female Farmer of the Year title.
Sixteen-year-old Jesua Tzib was recognized as Junior Farmer of the Year.
The awardees were honored during a sashing ceremony led by government officials, underscoring their innovation, resilience, and leadership in modern farming practices.
