By Zoila Palma: Today, the Department of the Environment (DOE) hosted the first meeting of the quarter for the National Integrated Chemicals Management Committee (NICMC).
The DOE said that the meeting was held jointly with the GEF Islands National Working Group (NWG) to discuss possibilities to develop opportunities for interagency collaboration and joint inspection initiatives, including the Consultancy to Develop a National Chemical Incident, Spill, Release, and Emerge Response SOP and Supporting Technical Resource Manual.
Through open discussions and collaboration, the DOE hopes to identify practical actions that will strengthen national coordination and improve the implementation of chemicals and waste management activities across Belize
