By Zoila Palma: Government offices across Belize are joining the National Anti-Littering Campaign, pledging to take greater responsibility for protecting the environment and promoting cleaner, greener communities.
The Department of the Environment has commended the participating offices for their commitment to the initiative.
As part of the campaign, representatives from participating offices took the National Anti-Littering Pledge by signing bamboo coins and placing them inside the Anti-Littering Heart.
The symbolic gesture represents a collective commitment to environmental stewardship and reinforces the campaign’s message that meaningful change requires unity and action.
Among the offices participating are district agriculture and education offices, the Belize Tourism Board, Belize Water Services, the Fisheries Department, the Department of Youth Services, the Ministry of Finance, the Museum of Belize, the Institute of Archaeology, the National Meteorological Service, the Belize Forest Department, the Energy Unit, the Office of the Postmaster General, the Elections and Boundaries Department and the Belize Tax Service.
The Department of the Environment expressed appreciation to all participating offices for helping to raise awareness about litter reduction and environmental protection.
