By Aaron Humes: Police have arrested and charged a 36-year-old man in western Belize, Manuel Soto, for “Keeping a firearm without a gun license” and “Keeping ammunition without a gun license.”
While officers were conducting a mobile patrol about 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, they responded to a report in the Another World area of Roaring Creek Village. They intercepted a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Soto, who was accompanied at the time by 38-year-old Therese Jennifer Soto and five minors.
A search of the vehicle revealed a Smith & Wesson nine-millimeter pistol with nine live rounds of ammunition in the magazine. Soto was unable to provide a valid license for either the firearm or the ammunition.
