By Zoila Palma: The Caye Caulker Village Council is leading peaceful protests as they demand answers to the pause of the construction of the police station.
The Caye Caulker Village Council recently issued a statement expressing concern and saying that it formally rejects any proposal to sell or transfer parcel 815 belonging to the police station.
“The Caye Caulker Village Council has taken note of the sudden halt in construction at the police station. With growing concerns coming from multiple sources, councillors made direct efforts to verify the situation with higher authorities,” the council said.
“This lack of transparency is unacceptable. Whether this pause is due to internal deliberations or the quiet acceptance of a proposal, the people of Caye Caulker deserve clear and immediate answers,” the council added.
A rally for truth continues today at 3:30pm.
