By Zoila Palma: During cabinet’s meeting on May 26, 2026, cabinet endorsed a proposed concession agreement between the Department of Transport/Transport Board and the National Bus Company (NBC) establishing a structured operational and regulatory framework for the modernization and coordinated operation of designated corridors under the existing transportation statutory regime.
The Government noted that this will allow for the facilitation of investment by the NBC and will contribute to a reliable, safe and financially sustainable public transport industry.
