By Aaron Humes: With a straight three sets sweep tonight versus Guatemala, Team Belize has won the Under-21 Central American Women’s Volleyball Championship.
Belize won the match 25-17, 25-18, 25-18. They had secured the gold going into the third set as due to earlier results they were mathematically too far ahead of Guatemala.
It is the first gold medal for any Belizean team in volleyball, coming on the heels of several silver medals won at home and a bronze last month in Honduras.
