By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belize welcomed another major boost to its international air connectivity on Monday, October 26, 2026, as BermudAir officially launched its inaugural nonstop flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to the Philip Goldson International Airport.
The new service provides travelers in South Florida with another direct connection to Belize as the country prepares for the busy winter tourism season.
The Belize Tourism Board (BTB), alongside its tourism partners, organized a special welcome for arriving passengers, featuring live music from the Kriol Culture Heritage Brukdown Band in celebration of Kriol Heritage Month.
Visitors were also treated to local delicacies and welcome drinks courtesy of Travellers Liquor.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the occasion, with Nicole Usher, Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations, and Director of Tourism Evan Tillett joining senior BermudAir representatives.
The airline was represented by Seth Bailey, Vice President of Commercial, and Andrea Spiegel, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.
The Fort Lauderdale route is the first of several new nonstop services BermudAir plans to introduce to Belize.
Additional flights from Boston, Raleigh-Durham, Orlando Sanford and St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay are scheduled to begin in December 2026.
BTB is also hosting American journalists, content creators and travel advisors to showcase Belize’s tourism attractions and promote the destination to travelers across the U.S. East Coast.
The expanded air connections are expected to create additional opportunities for Belize’s hotels, tour operators, restaurants and other tourism-related businesses.
