By Zoila Palma: Today, the Belmopan Child Advisory Body (CAB) enjoyed an engaging and educational session with Marcus August from National Commission for Families and Children (NCFC), who presented on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

August guided the children through key principles of the UNCRC such as non-discrimination, acting in the best interests of the child, supporting their growth and development, and respecting child’s views—using real examples to connect these rights to everyday life.

“Interactive group activities helped CAB members explore how they can advocate for children’s rights in their communities.

The group completed an online quiz and scored an impressive 97.45%, showing their strong understanding,” the Belmopan City Council noted.

The Belmopan City Council expressed gratitude to August for his dedication and support.
