“Congratulations to our very own Golden Girls,” PM Briceño said on social media. “You made Belize proud!”
The historic victory came at the Belize Civic Center, where the undefeated team dominated long-time rivals Guatemala in a 3-0 sweep.
The win solidifies the team’s unbeaten tournament run and marks a turning point for volleyball in Belize, inspiring young athletes and igniting national pride.
The atmosphere was electric as fans celebrated the team’s dominant performance, winning in straight sets (25-17, 25-18, 25-18).
